The position: we search for a highly motivated and skilled team member with an entrepreneur spirit and wide shipping, commercial, European maritime knowledge. The BU Director Chartering will play a crucial part in ensuring the optimal employment of our fleet and development of new business reporting directly to the Owners of the Company (CEO and COO).
Responsibilities: Daily manage the barges under Time Charter, keeping close contact with customers and barge masters; Send daily updates and being responsive to any further client’s request; Continuously communicate with market players to get to know the market developing market intelligence and keeping the management board updated with relevant market information; Manage the on-going contracts, secure employment of the fleet renovating existing contracts or searching for new players, focusing in maximizing financial returns; Continuously review current commercial status, as well as search new opportunities for employment, new projects (Gas, LNG barges); On a regular basis visit designated customers to maintain relationships as well as develop and expand new business opportunities by staying relevant and attuned to what is happening in the market.
Skills requested: Good educational background and experience within the industry; Structured, pro-active approach, outgoing with commercial/business drive. Positive team-player. Knows how to react quickly and decisively during the decision-making process, handling numerous transactions at the same time, but being controlled and result-oriented ensuring customer satisfaction.
